Decades of Nature

Our great backyard has been forever changing. Over his 30 years of wilderness exploration, one can’t help but notice how the intrusion of social media and Geo-tagging has transformed a solitary experience into a quest for online validation, while the lack of knowledge and mistreatment of nature by fellow campers taints the once-pristine landscapes. This idea inspired my documentary short exploring a long-time outdoorsman’s internal conflicts as he grapples with the changing nature of outdoor experiences, torn between the pleasures of human connection with nature and the environmental toll of mass camping culture, and some other challenges presented by age.
